Aboriginal Education

At Lucas Gardens School, we are dedicated to honouring and celebrating Aboriginal culture, history, and perspectives as a vital part of our school community. We actively engage with local Aboriginal artists and community members, including collaborating with Michael Fardon to create a meaningful artwork representing our local area. Our students collaborated in the creation of a vibrant artwork banner proudly displayed at the heart of our school, fostering a sense of connection and pride.

We enrich our curriculum and school life through initiatives such as an incursion visits by Ryka Ali engaging and exposing students to storytelling through song and dance, the development and publication of our Reconciliation Action Plan, and the creation of an Acknowledgement of Country video made with student participation. Additionally, we provide a range of resources and activities that support Aboriginal education teaching and learning, ensuring all students develop respect, understanding, and appreciation for Aboriginal heritage and history.

At Lucas Gardens School, we walk together in unity and respect, committed to building a culturally inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
